Morning and late afternoon/evening.
I know this can be tricky to accomplish, especially during the summer when days are long; however, the lighting is most flattering within 1-2 hours after sunrise, and within an hour before sunset, which is “golden hour” (and a little after sunset to get that blue, moody light, as well.) If these timeframes are not do-able because of schedules, daily-routines, or the kids’ (or adults’) “happy times”, then that’s okay! We can discuss the next best option and make it work. We can still play with midday sun, and if it’s overcast then we can play with the moody sky.

Yes! I really enjoy incorporating locations or spaces that are significant to you and your family. I can help brainstorm some options, or I can give you recommendations based on my experiences.

This depends on the type of photo session you choose and the time of year.
Family Photos: within 4 weeks from the date we took your photos. Turnaround time depends on time of year (busy season is typically August-December.)
Weddings and Events: 6 weeks depending on the time of year, and how many hours of coverage (more hours of shooting equals more edited photos.)
Business, branding, headshots: This depends on the project. We will be in communication regarding deadlines and turnaround times.

Most importantly, wear something you feel good in. This session is about you, so I want you to feel comfortable. I recommend earth tones, as they are flattering for many skin tones and they photograph well.
I also suggest coordinating outfits, rather than matching. Start with one strong piece, or one color or pattern, then build off that. Accessories are great to incorporate, as well. You can refer to my PORTFOLIO to browse through other sessions for visual ideas or this GALLERY with a variety of photos from past sessions.
Let me know your ideas and if you’d like input, and we can come up with outfit ideas and color schemes together.

If you’re located more than an hour from the Twin Cities, or outside of Minnesota, please inquire for more travel details. Travel fee may vary during my busiest times of the year (August-December).

If you need to cancel or reschedule due to illness, emergency, or anything beyond your control, please notify me as soon as possible. We can discuss potential reschedule dates. I do not charge a fee for the first reschedule, and your despot will be transferred to the new date.

Leading up to your session, we can keep an eye on the forecast. Since weather can change so quickly, we can wait until the night before or the day-of to make a decision. If it’s raining, too hot/cold, or if there’s a blizzard and dangerous road conditions, then we can discuss potential backup dates. I do not charge a fee for rescheduling due to extreme weather and your deposit will be transferred to the new date.
